Special Giving Opportunities
Annual Catholic Appeal
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Last weekend, at Mass, we were asked to participate in giving to the Annual Catholic Appeal, one of the primary ways in which the diocese fundraises for the many ministries that we do. As I mentioned during my homily, it is a very important thing that we as a parish participate in this appeal as a way to cooperate with the mission of the Church. It is also an act of gratitude for the many ways in which our parish has benefitted from the work of the diocese, whether it be through the formation of our priests and deacons, the education and formation of many lay leaders, marriage preparation done by many of the couples in our parish, an encounter had at our Summer Youth Camp, an annulment through our marriage tribunal, or one of the many, many other things partially funded through this appeal.
As I mentioned last week, our parish goal for this appeal is $87,000 this year. Last year, in the midst of a pandemic, we were able to raise $67,000 with just under 25% of our parish making a gift. With the generosity of our parishioners, I think this $87,000 goal is very reachable. This is why I want to invite and challenge every family in our parish to join me in making a donation to the Annual Catholic Appeal. The Lord is never outdone in generosity, and he is also never outdone in gratitude. Let us open our hearts to what the Lord is asking for us, and respond generously to this call.
Know of my continued daily prayers for you all, and may the Lord bless you and your families abundantly. Learn more about the ACA at the Archdiocese website.
