Liturgical Ministries

Our Liturgical Ministries are responsible for ensuring that all of our liturgies are celebrated beautifully and reverently for the glory of God.

Altar Server

This ministry is open to all young people fourth grade and older. Altar servers assist the priests and deacons in the celebration of the Eucharist. Formation for servers normally takes place in the twice each year. A training session is required.

Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) assist the priest in offering to the faithful the greatest gift that God can give us, namely, His Son in the Eucharist. Those interested must be registered parishioners, have received the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation, and be at least of high school age. New EMHC must attend a training session.

Music Ministry

The Blessed Sacrament music ministry endeavors to provide the best of sacred, Catholic music firmly planted on the solid foundation of the Church's vast, rich musical heritage. If you've ever given thought to possibly joining our music ministry, now is the perfect time to do so! There are currently openings at each Mass and each section (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) and we would welcome any new members!

Lector

These men and women have the incredible opportunity to lend their voice to God to proclaim the Scriptures at Mass. Any Parish member who is a confirmed Catholic of high school age may be commissioned as a lector. A one-time training is required.

Sacristan

These men and women have the opportunity to care for and prepare the sacred vessels used at Mass. Sacristans must be baptized, practicing Catholics and registered members of the parish. One training session is required. We also have volunteers who do the "Lord's Laundry" of laundering the purificators.

Hospitality (Usher / Greeter)

These men and women help every feel welcome and at home in our parish. They greet our parishioners as they enter the church for Mass, help with seating, direct parishioners to the restrooms or nursery, among other tasks.

Wedding Coordinator

These volunteers help a bride and groom and their guests to celebrate a beautiful and reverent wedding ceremony. They lead all wedding rehearsals and assist the priest or deacon on the day of the wedding.

Ladies Altar Society

All ladies of the parish are invited to attend Ladies of the Altar Society meetings the second Tuesday of the month (no meetings June, July, August) at 6:30 p.m., in the Parish Hall.  Ladies of the Altar Society provide altar care, furnish candles and clean the inside of the church. They provide funeral dinners and organize various parish receptions and dinners. Bake sales and participation in the annual carnival are among their fund-raising activities.
