New Kneelers Available

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
To deepen our reverence for the Most Holy Eucharist, I’d like to share a liturgical development in our parish.
Several months ago, at the request of many of our parishioners, Fr. Ray approved the introduction of communion kneelers, which are now placed at the sanctuary step during Holy Communion.
These kneelers are available for any of the faithful who wish to kneel to receive Holy Communion. Those who wish to continue receiving while standing are equally welcome to do so.
The General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM §160) states:
“The norm established for the reception of Holy Communion in the dioceses of the United States is standing, unless an individual member of the faithful wishes to receive Communion while kneeling. When receiving Holy Communion standing, the communicant bows his or her head before the Sacrament as a gesture of reverence.”
The minister of Holy Communion will remain stationed in front of the kneeler. You may choose to kneel or stand at the kneeler, according to your prayerful preference.
In Christ’s peace,
Deacon Bob
