The Solemnity of All Saints is a holy day of obligation. On this day we commemorate all the known and unknown saints who are with our Lord in heaven. This feast starts on the evening of October 31st, All Hallow's Eve, and ends on the evening of November 1st. This year, the Solemnity falls on a Tuesday evening. The Mass schedule is as follows:
7:30 am - Blessed Sacrament
6:00 pm - St. Patrick in Walters
7:00 pm - Blessed Sacrament
All Souls Day takes place the day after on November 2nd. On this day we commemorate the souls of all the faithful departed. Throughout the entire month of November, we remember those who have died and have not reached heaven, yet. Therefore, our prayers and the offering of Masses are essential to help our departed loved ones be admitted to the eternal love of our Lord.
The Book of the Dead will be available in the church so you can write the names of your loved ones. If you have already entered their names in the past, you will not need to do so again. They will be remembered at all of the Masses for this month.
Eternal Rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
"It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins." 2 Maccabees 12:46
