Did you know that the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time is the "Word of God" Sunday? Pope Francis’ Apostolic Letter, Motu proprio "Aperuit illis", published on 30 September, establishes that "the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time is to be devoted to the celebration, study and dissemination of the Word of God". Interestingly, the publication of this document coincides with the Feast of St. Jerome (September 30) who translated most of the Bible into Latin. According to St. Jerome, "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ".
In honor of Word of God Sunday, this week there will be a Special Word of God Holy Hour on Thursday, January 25th from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Confessions will still follow Holy Hour. May this time of prayer draw you closer to our Lord. Hope you can join us!
